This is my first attempt at writing a blog. As the leader of the PLC, I thought this would give you an opportunity to share those classroom activities that are working and the ones you need someone to help brainstorm solutions. Since the engineering design process is new to our state standards, we are embarking down a road that hasn't been traveled by many. Please feel free to share your thoughts and ask for help when needed. To get us started, I will ask a couple of questions:
1) What connection, if any, do you make between the scientific process and the engineering design process?
2) Have you taught the engineering design process to your students or have you provided them the opportunity to explore and figure out the process?
I hope you enjoy!
Mary
This blog is designed to give members of the SciTec Professional Learning Community(PLC) an opportunity to connect between meetings. It is intended that followers will share what is happening in their classrooms as they teach the engineering design process. Please feel free to let us know what is working and what issues have risen. With our collective knowledge we can make a difference in teaching the Engineering Design Process.
